Ice sculpture 220x100x70cm, Kautokeino, Norway by Elizabeth Kristensen
The Center is a play on the form of the human spine. Kristensen used the poem 'The center of the world' by Piet Hein as inspiration. He said that humans, walking amongst planets and stars, are seeking a center for their world, some solid archi-median point. But the world is complex, the center of the world is something you must create in yourself. If it is not in you, it is nowhere to be found.
